"DEAR PIXONIC, A LOGICAL APPEAL"

I have been a casual to moderate war robots player for close to three years now. I consider my self casual in the sense that I play less than 10 hours a week, and also don’t mind spending $5-$10 here and there on something I enjoy. Being the casual player that I am, I cant justify increasing either one of those greatly on a regular basis. In my time I’ve watched the game evolve quite a bit. Some changes have been great, while others, in my opinion were not so good. However, I have still managed to have fun through all of this. Now before I go on too much I must say that I realize that first and foremost the game has to remain profitable in order to continue operating. As much as we all wished that great games could be made and maintained free of charge for all to play, that is seldom the case. At the end of the day these games are made, updated, and maintained by people who do this for a living, and who clearly need to be compensated for their time. With that said, the latest economy updates have been the most toxic evolution of the game to date. The pretense of this update is that content will be easier for all to acquire, but longer to upgrade. This sounds like a fairly even trade off, but in reality it only serves to stifle all but the most hardcore players/wallet warriors, or “whales”. The cost to upgrade a single hangar in both time and resources is astronomical. If you factor in the time and resources you might want to spend experimenting with fun combinations, and on future released content this cost really starts to soar. These ridiculously high upgrade costs and time force the more casual player into three options if they wish to continue progression into the game. Increase your play time, increase your financial investments, or quit. For many, my self included, this makes the latter option seem inevitable. I would hate to have to say bye to a game I have enjoyed for so long, but in the current state I don’t see another option. From browsing the forums, and monitoring various other outlets of war robots intel it seems that I might not be so alone in my position. Many long time players are finding it too daunting to continue playing. If people who were so very into the game feel this way, I can only imagine what the new player must feel like. For any player vrs. player competitive game to go on it must generally attract new players faster than it loses them, or even the most hardcore cash cow player eventually runs out of competitors and loses motivation to go on. I fear that war robots is approaching this critical tipping point, and to that end I have a simple solution to propose… Roll back the increased upgrade time/cost on mk1 weapons/bots, and leave it in place on the mk2 variant. The way it stands now, upgrade time/cost are equal on both. This makes little sense to me. If you are preparing to upgrade an item to mk2 you have clearly either been playing for quite a while, have invested a somewhat substantial amount of cash into the game, or some combination of both. Its only natural that if you push for that additional competitive edge that mk2 offers you expect the cost and time to reflect that. This leaves progression for the more novice or casual player thru mk1 a more enjoyable experience, and allows more freedom to try various “fun bot” combinations you would have avoided otherwise. Simultaneously this still increases revenue from the player that is willing to pay to fast forward this whole process. I could continue to elaborate on further perks of this change, and other ideas for the continued success of such a cherished game, but this turned out quite a bit more long-winded than I had planned. In conclusion, I sincerely hope that the war robots team will consider this suggestion or some close resemblance there of and ensure that the casual player still has a home in the future of war robots.
