Do you have an Inquisitor? Jc. You are somewhat right. The stealth when landing can be overkill, but mainly when the Inquisitor has really upgraded weapons, otherwise it is still defeatable. Very. You also can outplay them, rather easily, and I have been outplayed lately quite a bit. You are right in that if you hit a ceiling or clip a wall, the extra stealth really gives you a chance at a do-over if you can escape but the time when you land is 5 seconds so if you're not careful, you'll get annihilated.
